Project: Nanocapsulated peptide-based immunotherapeutics

Organisation/Institute: Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest, Hungary)

Supervisor: Dr. Kata Horváti

I studied Biotechnology at the University of Padova (Italy), where I graduated in 2016. During my BSc, I got interested in the application of this field in pharmaceutical and health sector and, with this purpose, I continued my studies, obtaining my MSc degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies in 2018.

In my BSc final traineeship, I worked in a project concerning the potential correlation of lymphocytes subpopulations unbalance and the development of thymic diseases, improving my knowledge in the immunological field and my skills in molecular biology.

My MSc thesis was focused on the development of polymeric nanoparticles and their use as antioxidant agent. During this period, I had the opportunity to work on the synthesis of the starting chemical compounds, the preparation of NPs and their chemical characterization as well as their biocompatibility and biological activity.

After my graduation, I have been working as a Research Fellow in the nanomedicine field, broadening my knowledge and expertise.

This PhD project caught my attention as a cutting-edge approach to face the world's health emergency of antimicrobial resistance. This opportunity will also allow me to further develop my skills in science to pursue my future career.
