Project: Structural and functional characterisation of novel vaccine antigens

Organisation/Institute: National Research Council, Institute of Biostructures and Bioimaging (Naples, Italy)

Supervisor: Dr. Rita Berisio

Eliza comes from Poland and is the Early Stage Researcher on project 4, focusing on the structural and functional characterisation of novel vaccine antigens. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology (2015-2018) with a thesis about modulation of bacterial virulence by neuropeptides in the lab of Prof. Dr Zuzanna Drulis-Kawa in the University of Wroclaw.

Eliza continued her studies in the field of Microbiology, with the realisation of the master thesis in the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy in the Polish Academy of Science (2018-2020), in the laboratory of Prof. Dr Andrzej Gamian. She was involved in the production of monoclonal antibodies against Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs). During her master studies, Eliza was a member of Erasmus+ Mobility in the laboratory of Prof. Dr Pierre Morsomme in the Catholic University of Louvain, where she was involved in the research on Endophilin A isoforms.

Eliza is interested in the immunological aspects of the host – pathogen relationship and molecular basics of their interactions.
