BactiVax ESR Paulina Zarodkiewicz wins a prize for her presentation at the QUB Postgraduate Research Forum
BactiVax ESR Paulina Zarodkiewicz was awarded a prize for the best presenter in her group at the QUB School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences Postgraduate Research Forum on 7th December. Paulina is a PhD student working at Queen’s University Belfast under the supervision of Professor Miguel Valvano. In her project, Paulina focuses on identifying proteins in the core proteome of multidrug antibiotic resistant ESKAPE bacteria (Klebsiella, Acinetobacter and Enterobacter species) with the aim of developing new T-cell based vaccines to fight the infections caused by these dangerous pathogens (read more about her project here).
The QUB Postgraduate Research Forum is an annual event organsied by the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, that highlights recent advances in research and innovation from QUB scientists. The event features a series of scientific talks, poster presentations and career development sessions for early stage researchers at QUB.
